heard over berby-betty-dinner-nanang-watching-t.v. at the casa…

BERBY: i swear, that kid (pointing at the t.v. showing “May Bukas Pa”) is just always crying.  kapag may problema, iyak; miss mom, iyak; if na-touch kuno, iyak; heck, even if happy, iyak pa rin!

BETTY: buti na yan no.  kesa naman sa Eva Fonda, puro rape naman!

BERBY: oo nga naman; iyakan na lang tayo!

earthdate 030409: lawyered

Had I known sooner; I would have been relieved of the nosy credit-card-offer-calls much, much earlier!

I did not know that these credit card companies “hate” lawyers.I first heard of this fact from Kristine; and later verified by Barnett and Chung.Sort of madali kasing takbuhan ang credit card companies daw for a contestable amounts na medyo maliit lang naman, not worth the legal battle…all the more against a lawyer kasi the companies will expend more for their legal representation.

True enough, when I answered one of my weekly pre-approved credit card company offer-calls; I told them, lawyer na ako. Immediately, iba agad ang tono, sabay, “naku ma’am, wala po ba kayong other employment? Kasi, high risk daw ang lawyers eh.”

Their loss; my gain.Me, high risk?My record with my existing credit card company would very well vouch for me — a person hindi makatulog na may utang.

Oh well, I hope that is the end of these pesky calls. Now, if only the same principle operates with the alleged “pre-approved” insurance offer calls!

Again, sino ba kasing nag-re-refer ng name ko sa mga ito?!
