earthdate 032809: missing
Why? When pa?
Hahaha, grabe affected talaga…despite almost fainting twice (on separate instances) due to its chicken noodle soup.
Oh well.

I knew it was coming, but I was in constant denial lang. How could I not, if half of my life, I know one of my closest best friend is just a local phone call away; or could be immediately met at Cash and Carry/Luk Yuen (and before transferring sa Pque, by walking nga lang as we’re just a couple of blocks away from one another lang)?
I am sad when Jill and Lainie left for the US. Buti na lang may email, YM, SMS, and cheap call cards that we still are close despite the distance.
Then, after being housemates for months at Casa de Berbano, biglang umalis na rin si Mel (hahaha, ma-dramang actual exit). Shortly thereafter, to the USA for good na rin siya. Again, thank goodness for electronic communication plus occassional surprise snail mail.
A bit dramah too when Betty left the Casa to be with her mom (which turned out not to be a good idea) and in preparation for Kris’ arrival.
When it was Shey’s time to leave for good, I thought the past “leavings” ought to have prepared me. Pero, olats talaga; can’t help the overwhelming depression. Embarrassing, but the centennial airport gate guards were a witness to this — bawled like a baby while we were saying our goodbyes. Incidentally, Betty was flying to Singapore for Christmas the day Shey left. So, sad and dramatic “why are you leaving me?” episode talaga.
To think, earlier that day, I went to Ampere before going to work to see if may maitutulong pa kay Shey to pack (considering the months prior, ang dami ko nang kinuha from their house!). Then, I left the office early just so I can catch them before they check-in sa airport (thus, the photo at Figaro above — grabbed from Betty’s Friendster site).
After they went in sa airport, called up Riza and cried some more while I drove home. That sad!
Sigh, no more Divi-split congee at Luk Yuen-tambay sa bahay-days with Shey. It’s been months now and I’ve gone through the stuff we used to do together (texting her na lang while I am at 168 para somehow may kakulitan pa rin ako dun), pero miss ko pa rin si Shey.
Then, upon missing Shey, domino effect of me missing Jill, Lainie, Mel, and to some degree, Betty.
Very thankful na lang we had the KARB and GamiBer Weddings bonding bago nag-kahiwa-hiwalay talaga so we got lots of photos and recent good memories together.
Now, moving on to our lives’ next chapters…
Another low blow…
…since when has the favor of carrying boxes a measure of one’s valuation or accommodation of family?
Yes, I am speaking in riddles again. It’s just that I am left flabbergasted with an SMS message that came our way.
If only the favor was even personally asked; then, our side would have been heard man lang. But no, there was no asking; yet, immediately, hurtful judgment was hurled, taking none of the track record of how much we have honored family nor even a tinge of benefit of doubt as to our reasons why we cannot physically do a favor that time!
Family value/accommodation?! Goodness, our lives revolve around family — errands, presence, keeping their legacy — to the point of being constantly apart, drafting many documents, and sharing the littlest time we can be together. No, hindi ako nagbibilang; just pushed to the wall to at least state the obvious because it is very, very rude to have our values equated to those blasted boxes! And just to emphasize our values and to keep peace, I left some of the scheduled stuff I should have brought back to Manila so Kris can accommodate pa rin.
Sometimes, I wish they could at least reflect on their actions and words…and remember, respect begets respect.
I know they hate me; but, that fact won’t stop me…
XOXO

The Silences of Lent
A Holy Week online Retreat 2009
Fr. Johnny Go, SJ
Here’s a description of the online holy week retreat that Fr. Johnny Go, SJ will set-up. Hope we all get the chance to check it out. Have a grace-filled retreat!
“Too busy or too far away to join a serious and full-blown retreat this Holy Week?
All you need is to set aside about 30-45 minutes ANYTIME each day on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, or Black Saturday–at your convenience. Just go to www.jesuit.ph for your Holy Week Online Retreat.
Ours is a God of Silence, but He keeps different kinds of silences. And during Lent, more than ever, He is silent. His deepest silences are experienced in the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus.
Lent is truly a season full of silences, but the Silence of Gethsemane, the Silence of Calvary, and the Silence of the Empty Tomb–each one is different from the other. Maybe if we understand God’s silences in Lent, we will better understand His silences–and language–in our own lives.
Come and pray with us over God’s Lenten silences.”

| Manufacturer: | Samsung; sold by ABC STore Inc. |
Purchased SGH-E590 at ABC Store Inc. at RobPlace Manila.
Hardly used; always kept at home; still has the screen protective film; barely three months from date of purchase — the screen suddenly just said “Limited Service” and the battery cannot last the night anymore (making the unit hot all the time). Changing sims, full reset, and all troubleshooting didn’t help.
Since the phone is still very much covered by Samsung’s 1-year warranty, I brought the unit to ABC Store, Inc.
Their reply: the repair might take one month because they are not sure when people from Samsung would pick up said unit I’d be leaving with them. One month just to be picked-up?!
I decided to bring the unit directly to Samsung’s service center (Greenhills). There, Kris was told we’d expect to hear from them 2-3 days after. A week after, still nothing from Samsung. Buti sana if their hotlines are easy to reach — laging “the number you dialed is currently not available” both landline and mobile contact numbers. No reply din sa mga sms inquiries I sent.
Finally, when I got through, the customer service representative cannot give me any status update…kasi raw naka-leave yung technician nila. OMG! And so, I gave instruction na tawagan nila ako to let me know what is happening to Piper’s mobile phone.
It’s almost another week since that call, wala pa rin from Samsung.
Grrrr, wala ring email addy to complain to sa Samsung, Philippines website. Arg. Arg.

I caught some eps of this on local GMA 7 channel. Recognized Ethan Ruan from my fave Taiwanese drama, “Green Forest, My Home” kaya I got curious. After a couple of eps, I decided I cannot watch this in a ‘dragging’ manner…thus, berby dramathon time!
The first few episodes are quite funny; had several LOL-moments. However, super dramatic middle part! Latter part, nag-pick-up again but mas pronounced na ang ‘unbelievable’ luck cast upon the protagonists.
I enjoyed watching Ethan Ruan here — he has comical facial expressions and actions kasi…vastly different from his forever-constipated-look/acting as Owen in “Green Forest, My Home.”
Overall, I give the series two thumbs up. I like two songs from its OST din.

1. Did a Taiwanese dramathon of “Fated to Love You/Sticky Note Girl/ 命中注定我愛你 / Ming Zhong Zhu Ding Wo Ai Ni” (24 eps). Super puyat, like 3-4 hours of sleep lang the past three days! Can’t stop watching; yet now that I am done, parang I miss looking forward to finishing this latest berby dramathon. Haha.
2. Yehey, there is Ned Bigby’s Declassified Survival Guide again in Nick Channel. I super LOL with this series. Concretization of my bogus comic imagination talaga!
3. Yeah, jologs but I still try to catch that local channel ABS-CBN’s Betty series.
4. Finally, swtiching from Nick channel, Hero channel naman for a bit of Shaider. Hahahahaha, fun to re-watch the eps I used to watch as a child eh. A new learning though — mapapansin, the last frame of an episode, lalabas the katakana characters — つづく
— siempre read naman ako: tsu-zu-ku. Hahaha, the ditz berby reading Japanese yet not understanding naman! And so, got my Japanese dictionary and finally, after 48 years, nalaman din ano ibig sabihin nito. つづく = to continue. Since series nga naman, they might be saying, meron pa susunod na episodes so kids better stay tuned.
