earthdate 092408: cars, commute, BPI Credit Card, and a near-faint incident again
Two vehicles’ repairs and tune-ups truly made me plummet to brokedom, which will be felt when my credit card bill arrives.
Oh well, at least Wudju got new wiper mechanism na — very vital for the constant rains; and Xwind is in tiptop shape for its true owner, Kuya (who would be arriving tomorrow) and upcoming LTO registration.
Funny lang, to have two vehicles repaired, and with three cars to drive (them and Kris’ Vios), I ended up commuting the most this week! Bring Honda to Manila Casa — since hindi natapos within the day, commuted to magallanes and rode with Betty going home. Bring Xwind to Isuzu Makati Casa — borrowed Kris’ car to go home, returned Kris’ car to magallanes first thing in the morning as MMDA coding yun, cab to work, commuted to get Wudju, parked Wudju muna at Magallanes (kasi hinahabol kong hindi pa mag-close ang Isuzu), commuted to Isuzu, and drove Xwind home. Whew!
Wudju finally came home with Kris driving so to our house the next day.

BPI (Mr. Kenneth): Ms. Ria XXXXXXX?
Ria: Yes, speaking.
BPI: We are just concerned, your credit card was used in Honda Cars Manila for PXX,XXX.00 and then 20 minutes later, it was swiped for almost the same amount in GenCars/Isuzu Makati. Just verifying if you indeed authorized these charges.
Ria: Haha, yes, quite unusual credit card activities; but I did said charges. Thank you very much, though, for safeguarding my interest.

While waiting for Betty, and being uber tired of my crazy-car-repair-commuting-frenzy, I decided to eat my childhood comfort food in Luk Yuen Magallanes — chicken noodle soup. I sat on the same chair/table as when I almost fainted two years before. Being at the same place and eating the same food I ate then, I reminded myself of my friend Zeena’s advice: “Ria, chew your food!”
And so, I began with just eating the soup; then broke the chicken and noodles in smaller pieces for easier digestion. Also took my time eating ‘coz I know Betty would be finished with her class in a little over an hour pa.
I was talking with my friend Jove on my mobile phone regarding wedding invite distribution when suddenly, I felt my arms go numb. A bit of chest pain. Then my face was feeling a bit numb too. Told Jove, when he hears a commotion suddenly in the background, it means I collapsed. Told him where I was too for any eventuality.
Since I can smile, raise my arms (with effort though), and still stick out my tongue, I guessed I must be experiencing what I happened two years ago (where Kris rushed me to Makati Med E.R. — ECG and other tests came out normal naman). So, stress lang siguro. Since walang paperbag to breathe into, I used my bag muna and tried to focus to fight the fainting sensation.
Thanks, Jove for keeping me “company;” Shey, Oja and Betty, for rushing to the place.
Yeah, not wise, but I refused to be taken to the hospital. I was okay na naman after almost two hours eh — yeah, just sat there until I felt quite “normal” again and confident to stand already. Besides, as I’ve said many times in the past, I do not like hospitals. So many deaths in such institutions na kasi eh.
