earthdate 062708: photo trouble
I dunno if I’m celebrating or scared for capturing some controversial images with my mobile phone camera in two separate instances today.
I was in GSIS this morning to renew my comprehensive car insurance. Took the morning off just to do this errand. Typical — mabagal at magulo ang service; kakaasar kasi pare-pareho lang naman kaming mga kawani ng gobyerno, yet ako nawawalan ng day’s pay/leave credit just to be able to go to their office. Kaasar more ‘coz I know some people in the said institution who could move mountains for small errands like these, but I know, in the long run, it is way better to do these things myself than be stuck with the filipino attitude of having "utang na loob." Who knows what the kabayaran will be di ba, considering I know how demanding they can be.
Okay, I am digressing; back to the point.
At Window 17 on the 3rd floor lobby at 10am, I was instructed to fill up a form (magkaiba ang renewal sa new application) and submit the requirements (photocopy of car OR & CR, old policy, and old policy receipt). Then I was asked if I’m gonna pay na. To my mind: What a question, of course I will pay na to finish the whole process. May option ba not to pay and still be insured? And so, I was sent sa 5th floor for assessment. This is where I took my first photo of the day.
Before going sa 5th floor, take a floor ID muna from the guard’s counter. When I queued up, the man in front was being interrogated whom is he seeking sa floor he was going. The man cannot give the exact name. Kaming iba na nasa pila, may request slip na for the person we will meet. And so, I pleaded the guards, unahin na muna kaming sigurado na while they are still calling the floor where said man wanted to go. Fallen on deaf ears. Repeated my request. Again, nada. Wanting to blog or even complain about this bad service, I whipped out my mobile phone and snapped a photo of this ridiculous scene.
Bawal daw. Para saan daw ba? And they didn’t want to issue me a guest I.D. na. I told them, I took the day off, I want to have proof for my office what delayed me (and proof for my complaint should I tell the general manager sa floor if may time). Fine, to fast track na nga lang my stay, I deleted said photo in their presence.
And so I took off. Sa 5th floor, I was greeted by more disgruntled people waiting for their assessments. Sila raw, sa Window 17 pa lang, sinabihan, bumalik after 2 weeks to process their assessment (wow, swerte pa pala ako). Then, bumalik sila after said period, wala pa rin. Bumalik sila now, now pa lang rin nila ginagawa yung assessment. Wow, super wasted time di ba? Haynaku!
In the meantime, since Wudju is batch 2000 pa, actual survey pa. Baba and akyat uli — buti this time, sa ibang entrance/exit.
Finally got my assessment at 1140am. Rushed down agad bago mag-close cashier. However, may in between step pa pala! Window 19 for Payment Order. Payment Order?! May bill na ako, ready to pay, Payment Order pa?!
By 12nn, the guy at Window 19 took his lunch.
Whadda?!
Ayun, umalis na lang ako ‘coz I want to be in my office in the afternoon eh. Hay, ridiculous and panira ng araw.
Second photo-op moment ko was when I was on my way home. Along Quirino Ave, near the right turn towards SS Hwy, I saw some guys above the roof of an abandoned complex stealing cable wires. They look like the typical tambay sa area — the group na namamato ng mga kotse or nagbabasketball lang everytime I pass there. Anyway, these guys were pulling on the cables, rolling them up and binabato sa baba.
Crime!!!
And so, I whipped my mobile phone again and took a shot. One of them noticed me, and pointed sa mga kasamahan niya. Sinigawan ako; buti umandar na ang traffic and I sped away.
For my protection, I won’t post na nga the photo I took. Sobrang clear pa man din despite being inside the car then. This and my roadrage (Eh, why not use the horn for those stupid drivers on the road di ba?). Haynaku, hindi kasi pro-active ‘tong bansang ‘to eh.
