earthdate 300408: make-up

  • Over dinner

Ria: Shey said sanayin ko na raw skin ko with at least minimum make-up for the wedding. Gawd, wala akong alam sa make-up!

Julia: Wala rin akong alam eh.

  • And so, in a make-up store

Ria to a saleslady:  Miss, sobrang wala akong alam sa make-up. For my face, what to I put?

Saleslady: For daily wear?

Ria:  Yes, start sa very basic!

Saleslady points to different cosmetics.

Ria: huwhat?! I need that, that, that, that, that, and that?  When I have the time and return here next week, please apply those on my face so I’ll know what to do with them, Ok?

Saleslady: Yes, ma’am.

Ria:  Hmm, is it ok if I smudge bits of all those on my skin and I’d leave them on for an hour so I’d know if I’m allergic to them?

Fight!

  • Post note

*No allergies; but still hasn’t returned for make-up :p

earthdate 020508: WedPred and family talk

On a reprieve.  Really angered by certain people we unfortunately have to deal with.  Arg talaga. Since Kris is in Ilocos for several days, ay, pause na nga lang din ako with those people and our irritating circumstances.

Honestly speaking, with three of my ka-barkada also getting married soon and likewise preparing for their respective weddings, I somewhat feel a wee bit more stressed.  Kasi, I can see they have more control and supportive family/relatives that they can afford to do certain things more special.  Consuelo na lang for me are my brother in LA, my aussie cousin David, and Tita Vicky — really supportive not just about the wedding but with other things I need.

Thank goodness din talaga for them; kasi naman, my relatives in QC just chose to have another nonsensical “war” that one of my cousins ran away from their house and guess where she decided to bunk ? Uh-huh.

Tomorrow, Tita Madre suggested we have a mini-get together with Tita Vicky to brainstorm what to do with these relatives of ours.  We told Tita Madre na nga lang not to concern herself with them and just concentrate on her health issues.  Pero she insists na we atleast talk about them a bit ‘coz we all do not need this recurring headaches from them — lalo na now that we respectively have great concerns.  Nyaha!

earthdate 010508: Car talk

  • Xwind got wiggly steering wheel.  Had the wheels balanced and aligned at Goodyear Servitek Palanan.  Problem wasn’t solved.  I was told the tie rods and some joints need to be replaced — estimate cost amounts to more than P10,000!  Went to the “suki” carshop of my friend GP at Banawe (hmmm, I think they consider me a “suki” apart from GP na rin ‘coz despite the cheap bill, they give me discounts pa).  Anyhoo, their prognosis is Xwind’s center link is busted (yeah, saw it under chassis).  So had it replaced na nga lang; and pinasabay ko na the tune-up and change oil.  My total bill?  Less than P5000!  Steering wheel, no longer wiggly!

You might think maybe I’ve just been had.  I believe otherwise.  GP trusts them and a whole bunch of car owners with even more expensive and bigger cars patronize the shop.  Tapos, the break pads and shoes they replaced for me two years ago are still great!  Ang happy!

Oh, and pinasabay ko na rin the flapping side mirrors. Yahoo, hindi na sila linilipad ngayon!

  • Siempre, nagtampo si Wudju!  Just this morning, I noticed, super wiggly its steering wheel. Whatda?!

Dalin ko na sa Banawe “suki” shop agad when I get extra money.  Won’t commit the same mistake of going to Goodyear Servitek Palanan!

earthdate 042508: Driving talk

  • Been waiting for the summer holidays of DLSU so I can enjoy the shorter route of Taft -Vito Cruz (P. Ocampo) going home.  Finally, when I learned said university, as well as SSC, no longer have regular classes, I didn’t waste any more gas with my either

    Harrison

    Plaza

    or

    Quirino Avenue

routes.  Just my luck, puro new Maynilad diggings yung area that Vito Cruz (P. Ocampo) was closed down. AAAArrrrrg!  To think, the areas surrounding our office, RobPlace Manila, and Julia’s neighborhood still got unfinished Maynilad diggings — done na pipe laying yet, the streets weren’t cemented/asphalted the way they were before.  Tuloy, with the sudden rains, sobrang maputik these areas. Hay…in a way, I kinda miss the previous Mayor of Manila.  At least, he was bent on beautifying and improving these areas before (although medyo weird nga lang the designs and color scheme ng sidewalk in front of our building). Chopchop, DPWH and Maynilad, please!

  • Although summer na and dapat nabawasan na ang morning/afternoon rush with students, I noticed that
    Roxas Boulevard

    and

    Quirino Avenue

have an even heavier volume of traffic than during the academic months.  What gives?!  Ah, yeah, the diggings! Arg!

  • Just wondering, the huge billboard sa EDSA (pero I noticed yesterday na tinanggal na rin) ng Sunsilk featured Marian Rivera, Majah Salvador, and Heart Evangelista; however, sa T.V. commercial, it was the first two and Nikki Gil.  What happened with the Ms. Evangelista?

  • More than P40 for diesel and P48 for unleaded?!  Damn!
