SC uniform circa 2008
Don’t let the smile fool you; I really don’t like our uniforms! The smile is because my co-legal staff are "game" with my two days photo-ops-ing.
I know, I am not in any sense a fashionista; but I know naman most of the time what looks better on me. These two sets of uniform aren’t the very least in the latter category! They really make me look old and veeery government-ish. Kris joked for me not to wear either when we’re together, lest people will mistake me as his mother!
Despite the alterations (think, crotch area being way toooo low; loose waist for pants, too tight naman for the skirts; loose/flare-y sides of blouses), ill-fitting pa rin sa akin. Pants are now very loose hipsters with still some problems in the crotch area, green blouses are still loose, grey blouses are kinda tight). Top it all, the cloth aren’t absorbing cotton. Heck, the green pants are quite itchy, the grey blouses are too thick and heavy, the green blouses are phlegmatic in color, and the skirts are very thin (no lining even! Kris forbids me to wear them without any slip).
The two days, I change into a shirt before I leave the office so I can walk to where I park the car with some dignity. Julia even volunteered to lend me a shirt for my bank errand today so I won’t be in complete uniform when i face people eh — her lending me a shirt without me asking says a lot on how she sees me in the phlegmatic uniform!
Mildz is very much affected as well…even considering of resigning because she refuses to be a "prisoner" of these uniforms.
Some are happy/content naman with them.
So, nagpapaka-maarte lang ba kami?
Hay, sige, maarte kung maarte. Pero, I swear, these uniforms are putting me in foul mood talaga — uncomfy and really quite ugly for me eh.
