Honda whine

ayiiiiieee!

I set out early today to have side mirror of Wudju repaired (ahem, the damage was done by my dad years back; mang pong just had it remedyo-repaired and i added reinforcements that after two years, bumigay na talaga).  I decided to have it done sa Honda Makati na nga to be sure of proper replacement of the whole side mirror mechanism.  Thus, I called Honda Makati last Monday to inquire about costs and repair time (The person I spoke with sufficiently answered all my queries, with him even clarifying the model and year of Wudju).  I called yesterday to inquire if they are open on Friday (they aren’t).

Since I got class Saturday morning and errands the rest of that day, the perfect time for the repair was today — drop off the car in the morning, commute to work, commute back to Honda, and happily go home with a fixed Wudju.

Siempre, when I got to Honda Makati, they told me they don’t have the parts and it takes three days to order so.  Wha?!  Haynaku, sana sinabi sa akin when I called so I could have advanced order then pa lang.

So, Tuesday pa raw.

Eh, coding si Wudju.

So, sa Wednesday pa.

Arg.

Crosswind whine

Tuesday morning, Xwind’s left rear tire seem malambot.

After work, I couldn’t get out of RP’s basement parking ‘coz said tire was kinda flat.  Added air via my mini-air compressor (I noticed the pito was kinda leaking after I removed the cap) and went to a gasoline station.  Since wet ang roads due to rain, I heard a singaw from the tire na talaga.   And so, off to a vulcanizing shop.

Ang salarin — a fat screw.

Arg.

Oh well, at least hindi tire-bursting kind of flat and I was able to drive to the vulcanizing shop pa in time.

earthquake

we just experienced an earthquake.

medyo malakas din; thus, we had quite a scare. our office kasi is on the third floor of this old four-storey building.  our door in this floor in particular is permanently locked (so our exit is at our main door, still one flight down pa).

napaisip tuloy kami, what is the best option kung lumakas at tumagal pa yung lindol: stay under our tables?  go down and out?  go to the top-most floor para kung gumuho yung building namin, una and madali kaming mahuhukay?

knock on wood that we won’t experience a great intensity and destructive earthquake while we’re here at work…

Konnichi wa!

My college friend and Nihongo sensei, Tricia, asked why are we taking Japanese Language classes.

Classmate 1: For further studies in Japan and a possibility of making a Filipino-Japanese children’s book.

Classmate 2: Been interested since grade 2 (he graduated from college and works in a call center already) and for further studies in Japan.

Classmate 3:  Interest in foreign languages; took nihongo during undergrad; and as audit units while finishing masteral studies in psychology.

Ria: My friend lent me a DVD of Hana Yori Dango Live middle of this year and I super liked the series. The lead actor there (Matsumoto Jun) is also a member of a boy band, Arashi.  I am now a fan of the group and I am sooo excited to watch the finale of Hana Yori Dango in 2008. Just for fun, I want to understand Arashi’s songs and the upcoming movie.

Toink!

Did I really say that out loud? Hahaha! I could have been more imaginative and told a ‘better’ reason; pero in truth, yun lang naman talaga dahilan ko for now eh :o)

(happy?) holidays

Some friends have been asking about plans for Christmas parties already.

Gosh, December is really sooo near na nga pala talaga!

However, I just reply to those inquiring, "wala pa akong naririnig from the others."

I don’t know how it started, but in my groups of friends, I usually instigate yuletide-get-together plans, getting concensus regarding venue and date, doing follow-ups, and giving updates. Part of this set up is my fault din kasi siguro ‘coz my previous excitement over the Christmas season and my alleged O.C.-ness make me ask friends early on about our annual gathering.

Unfortunately, my excitement for the holidays has waned since 2003; plus efforts going unappreciated  [friends considering it's my designated duty already to do the planning/booking] and getting the ire of people when majority votes don’t go their way with the venue &/or date over the years have lessened my drive to actually do any planning.

So, this year, I am just sticking to my post-2006-holiday-season resolution to just wait for someone else in my different groups of friends to initiate the planning.  Besides, I remember joking before na iba naman mag-plan next year [pertaining to this year].  With my relatives, I even told them last year that I pass on the torch of hosting and being the gamemaster to my younger cousins (parang awa na nila! and in preparation na rin of the possibility that I might not celebrate Christmas 2007 with them).

Don’t get me wrong; I am not being a scrooge.  I just want a change and have a different holiday season this year.  Just granting a personal wish of not being overly stressed by others and hopefully enjoy a yuletide season again after all these years.

kuala lumpur, malaysia

for more information about KL, Malaysia - http://wikitravel.org/en/Kuala_Lumpur

posing by the monorail.  dang, KL has got one good transport system — from MRTs, to monorails, to organized buses, to the very fast airport trains!

http://www.oldtown.com.my — yummy white coffee!

bukit nanas.  dang, tiring trail to go to the KL tower.  we could have walked the other and easier way.  oh well, the amazing race asia 1 people tried this so we also got to. haha.

the effort to take these photos!  sigh, no other tourists passed by so we don’t have a photo together with the Menara KL tower at the background.

Hahaha, goofing around at the park in front of the Menara KL Tower. Sayang kasi under maintenance yung Flying Fox Park ng AJ Hackett (same company which handles the SkyJump in Macau — http://www.ajhackett.com/malaysia/flying-fox.html), kaya photo-ops and view deck lang nagawa namin dito.

again, another back breaking moments just to get perfect shots of the Petronas Twin Towers. again, no other tourists to trust our camera with and exert efforts to get a perfect shot of Kris and I together.

Merdeka Square.
