  • Boo-yeah! All new episodes of Kim Possible J (right before Untalkative Bunny)!  No commercials regarding Shaun the Sheep; been long since I caught an ep….is it still on?  Sayang kung wala na ‘coz funny-in-a-weird-way pa naman.  In Ilocos, some of the nieces of Kris were amazed I know most Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows (especially the teenybopper-ish ones).  Yan ang influence ni Piper J  — hahaha, it became the other way around talaga; instead of the elder influencing the young, the latter pa ang naka-influence sa former J.

  • Miss Japanis the 2007 Miss Universe.  Naks, Ando of Heroes was one of the panel of judges J (…how come?).

  • Maroon 5 with a new album!!!! J

  • I saw yesterday in National Bookstore that the new Harry Potter book is being distributed to those with reservation na (pahiram, bets, pagkatapos mong basahin ha? J).

  • End of May na and I’m still not yet done with my friggin’ cases!  I am soooooo stressed out na.  If not for missing records, great level of difficulty naman yung issues ng iba.  Hay!

  • Wow, a 1GB USB Flash Drivefrom Kris!  What a jump from my 256mb!  Uh huh, I only got a prehistoric 256mb all these while, despite others now having as big as 2-3Gs.  Kasi naman, I bought my Cruizer Mini at US$40 in 2004! Kaya despite a 1G just costing roughly US$10 in CD-R King, I want to squeeze every penny’s worth of my 256mb (hahaha, ilocano nga ako J).  Puro word documents lang din naman files ko thus storage capacity isn’t really an issue for me.  But with my new 1G, I can save big photo and music files na J.

  • Speaking of techie gadgets, I was stunned by the statement of a photo developer in S&R last week — linait ba naman yung digicam ko J?!  I’ve got almost 200 photos to be developed (kaya sa S&R na ko pumunta kasi Php 5.00 per copy lang for 200pcs. and up dun).  Between 200+ to 700+ kbs per photo file ko.  In Kodak-RP, I get good quality photos na with such size.  But the S&R photo developer told me my photos would come out pixelized; dapat daw 1000kb and up daw.  Huh?  That big photo file to get good enough ordinary photo prints?  Then, she asked ilang megapixel lang daw ba kasi camera ko?  3.2MP. Mababa raw.  Hello? I am super happy with my digicam (pasalubong ni Kuya before; thanks again J!) — simple to use and  compared nga sa camera ng iba with higher MP, mas maganda pa usually outcome ng photos ko due to my standard settings and the way I shoot pictures.  Balik Kodak-RP na lang ako.  Despite being a bit pricey, at least I am assured ok prints ko (better pa nga talaga actually dun kasi I can instruct them certain matters with some specific photos — hehehe, suki na rin kasi J).

  • Dang, the price of unleaded has gone up since before election period pala.  Close to Php40 per liter again.  Mabuhay si Xwind and its diesel tank (almost Php35 per liter).

  • On the other hand, US$ is still low!  Php46+ to a US$ na lang.

Sheesh!  Nanang just told me that Polo ‘attacked’ a kid yesterday afternoon!  Oh no, oh no, oh no!!!!  Nanang said, she and Polo were already about to enter our gate after a walk-the-Polo session when a kid ran after a ball that went towards them.  When the kid approached, Polo “bit” him.

Gosh, I should have known right after when it happened so I would have gone home immediately to address the situation, lest the parents of the kid might think I don’t give a damn.  Damage control, I immediately went to the house of the kid this morning to inquire how he’s doing.  Unfortunately, only the driver was up then.  Thus, I just left a letter conveying my apologies, explanation that Polo is regularly vaccinated, statement that I’m going to take full responsibility, and my contact numbers.

I just received an SMS from the parent of the kid saying the latter is doing good — that Polo actually just gave him a small scratch and not a bite — and that they appreciate my concern.

Whew, thank goodness J!

I attended the “Women with Drive Workshop” of Goodyear Servitek on troubleshooting vehicular problems last night.  For three hours, we discussed things Under the Hood and Chassis, Electrical matters, and the Tires and Wheels. Ok ang discussion kasi they have a videocam focused on a car and the actual footage was projected on a big screen; hence, we didn’t have to crowd around the car to see what’s going on.  We just sat on our seats while the host and the mechanics discussed matters accordingly.  We were guided with photocopied manuals na rin so we need not furiously write everything they say.

Overall, the workshop was actually informative; but modesty aside, I am already aware of ¾ of the stuff taken up.  Solely handling Xwind and Wudju kasi, I’ve already experienced most of the common problems they brought up.  It helped din to make kulit mechanics servicing either vehicle; thus, I am comforted to know I have a good working knowledge na rin pala about car troubleshooting.

But, ok na rin as ‘refresher’ yung workshop na yun.  It was free anyway…plus they gave food, drinks, notepads, and shirts pa! J

They said they will have a similar workshop soon.  So to my girl friends (pwede rin guys kasi they allowed Kris to sit in), try to attend.  Just call 8764707 for information/schedule.  Be patient though.  I called up said number (noted from an article in PDI) a month ago pa.  They returned my call just early last week to ask the location I prefer and again at the end of last week to confirm my attendance.

I finally finished the Korean telenovela Jax lent a month ago (record ito ‘coz it usually takes me 3 days lang; election frenzy kasi).  I think this is my 10th Asianovela already…hahaha, addict na kami sobra!  Funny is, every time we watch, Jax and I have a critical analysis pa in the office na parang of great national importance yung dini-discuss namin J.  Now, aside from Korean and Taiwanese, Jax has Japanese telenovela na!  Hahahaha, bisyo na talaga ito J!

Aside: Karagdagang tanong sa naunang kababalaghan na bakit-kulot-ang-buntot-ng-baboy? — Bakit ang mga palad hindi umiitim?  Just wondering ‘coz my arms were sobrang sunburned in Ilocos that comparing them with my hands, super obvious how dark I’ve become.

What a Metro Manila day!

First, Kris, Nico and I tried the new Pasig River Ferry.  We boarded at Guadalupe station; traveled to Escolta and back.  My take:  great stations (clean, bright, equipped); good but slow-for-me ferries (it took 45 minutes one way); cheap (flat rate of P25); the river stinks (yuck talaga when you board in/out and every time the door opens per station) and filled with floating trash; the squatters along the route are disturbing (dang, some even swim, and some flash their undies); hindi gaanong organized kasi walang specific time of arrival ang mga ferries.

After our river ride, we rode the MRT again to go to TriNoma (the new Ayala mall beside the North Station).  It looks and has a feel of Glorietta Makati.  Some stores are still closed (as well as the interconnection between the mall and the MRT station) and there are still some construction dust/smell all over.  The fountain system looks impressive though.  Observation:  Ang daming tao…saan sila galing and where do they go prior TriNoma?

I HATE JOLLIBEE (the mascot)!

This morning, our office, along with the offices of two other justices, had an outreach activity for a pediatric surgical ward in PGH.  We had a Jollibee party package for the young patients therein. Dang, I freaked out talaga with that mascot looming in front of me!  It may seem I was just hiya to go along with the mascot; but I swear I was super red-faced na due to stress, crying (thank goodness na-mask ng eyeglasses and sweat ko), and nanginginig already, wishing for him to go away.

Arg, caught on official SC video the whole episode.  JM says she also got shots on her mobile phone. Sigh, kakahiya talaga; pero I can’t help it, I was soooo afraid na talaga kanina as I really do not like mascots.

I need therapy from today’s trauma!!!!

  • Happy birthday, Betty J!

  • As predicted, Jordin Sparks is the new American Idol.

  • Kris, Nico, and I watched Pirates of the Caribbean — 2 ½ hours; quite confusing; crush ko pa rin si Orlando Bloom J; maraming “Disney” humor; overall I consider it a good watch.  I read from Iyok’s blog that you should wait after the end of the credits.  Shucks, we didn’t….anyone please tell me what scenes I missed?

  • After three weeks since it was first shown on the local big screen, Kris and I finally got to watch Spiderman 3.  Yeah, as most of my friends find it, this Spidey installment was super action-packed that mid way, it got pretty tiring to watch.  Thank goodness for the Peter-dorky-moments, this Spiderman movie maintained the human aspect of our web-swinging superhero J.

  • I got my bar grades this morning.  Yehey, pasado ako! Hahahahahaha J.  I can’t believe I got low grades in Poli and Comm this time; thank goodness for Rem talaga J.  Redeeming factor:  Hindi lang ako basta naka-75! J

  • Sigh, I still haven’t found my Livestrong band!  Separation anxiety…

  • Kris and I caught up with “How I Met Your Mother” and “Heroes” and finally reached the first season enders of both.  With the former, I super love Barney talaga! With the latter, damn, how will they really get rid of Sylar?!  An observation though, sa last face off between Sylar and Peter, andun lahat ng main characters (first time the whole season they were in the same location at the same time).  Hindi ba dapat na-absorb ni Peter powers nila? For me, the philosophizing and the turn of hearts ng mga Petrellis were so cheesy and un-Heroes-like.  I wonder how second season will be?
  • Did Blake hear me J?  Another Maroon 5 song tonight! Woooohoooo! Admittedly, Jordin is really the best in vocals.  I think she will win tomorrow.  Oh well, no sadness ‘coz she deserves to win and I like her too J.

Bacarra votes were the last officially tallied in the provincial capitol, with RRA and KRA garnering more votes than their opponents.  Three days after, Mayor Philip Velasco was murdered (see Kris’ blog for some details regarding this).

Scanning through my campaign photos, I found this one of Kris speaking in the very same auditorium where Tribute_mediumMayor Velasco was shot (this photo Velasco_medium was taken after the May 12 motorcades).  Scrolling through my mobile phone, I saw Mayor Velasco’s number (saved by Kris before).  Remembering my visits in Ilocos during the past election seasons, I get mental pictures of Mayor Velasco meeting RRA in the big house or us eating with him in the kitchen.

Because of what happened to Mayor Velasco, I no longer feel safe in Ilocos Norte.  I fear for RRA, KRA, and the rest of their family/relatives.

I condemn the above crime and pray for justice to prevail.

Condolence to the family of the late Mayor…
