Gosh, January is over; I’m starting to have nightmares every sleeping time; and people are starting to say, “uy, malapit na ah.” I was particularly surprised with the guard of AJ LAQ (whose office is in front of ours). I didn’t know he knew my name and the first time he addressed me in length was to remind me the results are coming soon.

yes, despite the high reviews and some of my friends being addicted over it, I admit I haven’t sat through a whole episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I just finally watched a couple of so (completely) this weekend ‘coz Kris is watching the episodes of its latest season.
no, it’s not because i don’t like medical drama; i was actually crazy over E.R. during high school. no, obviously it’s not because i don’t like following a series; my fanaticism over t.v. shows dates back since mid-80s (think McGyver, Star Trek: The Next Generations).
it’s really just because of this weird ‘sickness’ or ‘attitude’ that i have. you see, i have this mindset for resistance of the popular (yes, personally and psychologically unprocessed condition). if I know a lot of people like something, i’d try to avoid liking so as much and as long as i can; but if i am one of the first few people who like something, i don’t mind if the rest of the local world start to like that something as well. so, basically, i’m like just refusing to jump in the bandwagon if it’s already quite filled. (yes, yes, i’m mentally disturbed!)
case in point: i won’t be caught playing badminton as a sport because many of my close friends are already into it; but i would try rowing, boxing, and batting because none/only a handful of my close friends do them.
which brings us back to Grey’s Anatomy. many friends followed it since it was first shown here, thus i didn’t (but since no one i knew was watching Heroes, i sat through the episodes until I discovered some people are watching it na rin. but, since i started out knowing no one tuned with it, i’m gonna continue watching despite the show’s growing popularity here).
anyway, i tried to break this crazy mindset and watched along with Kris the episode he was then currently on. finally, i’ve become acquainted with “Mc Dreamy” and “Mc Steamy,” whom just i often heard from friends who are avid watchers of Grey’s Anatomy.
my reviews: too much sleeping around; i like Chris O’Donnel’s character better than Mc Dreamy; i don’t like the voice and thoughts of Grey, but i do those of the other characters….so, can it be Someone Else’s Anatomy na lang J?
sayang, i wasn’t hooked enough with Grey’s Anatomy to finally throw away my stubborn mind-set.
oh well, baby steps, people. baby steps J.

I’m on a mission: to get Nanang a birth certificate — the start of all identification papers/cards and many government/commercial transactions, which she has been denied all these years.
Ria: Nanang, wala o nawala lang ba yung birth certificate mo?
Nanang: Meron ata tapos nawala.
Ria: So meron nuon?
Nanang: Ay, wala ata talaga.
So, let’s start from the very beginning: follow the instructions from the NSO E-Census. After doing the initial steps, my search yielded a negative certificate of record of birth from the NSO E-Census. Now, onto Endorsement Procedure with the Local Civil Registry Office in Cagayan Valley. If they got nothing there for her, start with Late Registration Procedure. Yes, starting from the latter should literally cut the chase (and make my life easier), but according to NSO E-Census, I should do all these in sequence. Sigh, buti sana kung malapit ang Cagayan and madali kausap mga tao sa mga ahensiya ng gobyerno. As it is, I need more than patience and O.C.-ness in this mission; I need luck!

Thank you to all those emailing and sending me messages as to possible leads in my search for Kris’ movies. I hope y’all won’t tire searching video stores until we complete my list.
Some updates: I faxed a letter of request to Mr. Robbie Tan of Seiko Films (thanks for the number and initial calls, Shey! Now, anyone knows anybody from Regal films?); my friend working in ABS-CBN will check with Cinema One; Kris’ sister will check video stores which she knows sell old films; some friends gave names of stores that may have said films; will schedule a trip to CCP film archives next week; the dad of my friend will try to reconstruct the old and moldy Betamax copies of Kris; another dad of my friend will look for friends in Mowell Fund daw.

It was truly a horrible day; but I know it wouldn’t have as excruciating as how I think it is if not for my very quick temper. Yes, I am ashamed to admit, even to myself, but it finally dawned on me that I’ve got a nastier and more explosive temper compared to how it has been years back. not to defend or give excuses for myself, but the things that irk me are really damnable naman; however, I know, the amount of rage, rants, and rave I feel and express are way than the supposed normal reaction of people. Gosh, I’m losing to life’s adversities!
…and apologies to those who were at the receiving end of my fury one time or another.

not good, not good. this morning, naatrasan ako ng isang motorized pedicab. dang, a nasty 3-inch gash on xwind’s front bumper. yup, the freakin’ driver couldn’t have cared less and went away without any apology man lang (i don’t actually expect any reparation especially one can sense he cannot afford to pay; but I wanted at least a show of some remorse. hay, this country is so polluted with ill-mannered people na talaga!). then, just now, the institution clinic called to follow up my health “condition.” wow, amidst the many and not-actually-undergoing-annual-medical-exams employees here, they’re very focused on me as if i’d bring the whole office down with my “condition.” well, to answer them din, we’ll all know this week how i really am as i’d have another x-ray when my two-month medication ends on thursday. truth be told, i’m scared. yes, I never missed those pocket-sucking meds; but despite the weeks i’ve been taking them, i was more sickly the last quarter than the other quarters of last year. i just really hope my sickly-ness is brought about by the yuletide virus floating about then.
in re tita madre: last week, she went to her eye doctor (after more than 2 years), expecting upgrades on her eyeglasses. ayun, Berbano nga siya ‘coz instead of having new eyeglasses, she ended up being required to undergo surgeries on both eyes! she just sent an SMS saying they are done with her left eye already; the right is scheduled on saturday. thank goodness on advanced medical technology, lest she would have gone blind. to think she still has three more years to finish in
