gosh, i can’t seem to stop talking about the rain — as it doesn’t seem to stop trailing me wherever i go!
there are two warning signals that let me know when our area will get some downpour.
one:
when nanang cleans the xwind outside the house, she often leave some watermarks all over the vehicle. she may not notice due to poor eyesight brought about by old age. and so, whenever she cleans the xwind, i make it a point to wipe its body anew and then wax it.
the past times i’ve embarked on this tedious task of waxing the whole body of the xwind; not a single time had it NOT rained and washed away my fantastic job!
two:
minutes prior a downpour, numerous gamu-gamu crazily fly about and try to get close to the light bulbs in use inside our house. thank gawd our screens bar them from entering and pestering me.
i had another insight with regard to the gamu-gamu aside from them being rain indicators. as i saw their struggle a couple of nights ago (i can’t help watching because my study desk faces my window), i felt suddenly in awe with their strong resolve to get close to my bedroom light. there were several who tried to squeeze their way through my window screens just to be closer to the light — this spelled the permanent amputation of their wings. however, those who got through didn’t seem to mind the pain and the loss. they ‘looked’ happy to have gone through the barrier that hindered them from their goal to reach the light. wow, such will and determination!
after my "tadah!" insight, my next thought was, "eeew! the amputee gamu-gamu looked so gross!" haha. good thing an unassuming lizard saved my sissy mind. he gobbled the amputee gamu-gamu out of sight in a sec. yeah, that was a gross sight as well; but i’d rather not see anything feast on the lizard with such speed. who knows what insect that might be and the thought that such may be lurking by my window just gives me the creeps!
